Hi there, I’m Lenka. I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the Portland area for 22 years, specializing in effective bodywork for those dealing with chronic pain, repetitive stress and knotted up, tense muscles.

I’m a graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts here in Portland, and my background has been working in the spa industry as well as in a chiropractic setting. I am known for excellent deep tissue work that is effective, relaxing and integrated.

My goal is to provide you with an excellent massage experience: not only as a great way to de-stress and unwind tight muscles, but also as an investment in your health.

The clients I work with typically fall into one of these 3 categories:

Calming relaxation massage for the stressed out + overloaded; supporting the parasympathetic & calming the nervous system. (Recommended as 1 hr or 90 min session)

Integrative full body massage + detail work on problem areas for those with chronic pain or tension patterns, repetitive stress/overuse, and for those that do best with blending focused work with relaxing massage. (Recommended as 90 min session)

Specific, focused work on problem areas such as upper back tension, neck pain/range of motion issues, headaches/migraines, low back/hip pain, frozen shoulder/rotator cuff injuries, tennis/golfer’s elbow, foot pain/plantar fasciitis, thoracic outlet syndrome, sciatica/piriformis syndrome, etc. (Recommended as a 1 hr session or a 90 min session if dealing with multiple problem areas)

My style of massage can be described as focused, intuitive, deeply relaxing and slow enough to allow the tissues to “melt down” at their own pace.

I‘m able to quickly zero in on the problem areas and approach them from several angles, using whatever techniques will work best for the type of tension pattern, the feel of the tissues themselves, and your preferences.

Because I’m one of those picky people when it comes to massage, you get the benefit of my attention to detail, and treating you the way I would want to be treated. As a “spa trained” massage therapist, I enjoy bringing part of that world into your treatment. This may include aromatherapy, warm steamy towels, comfy linens, bolsters/pillows to support your body, a table warmer, and using high quality products that are good for your skin.

My clients also know me as an info nerd–I’m always learning something new, and love to pass along useful tips and great resources for self care between massages. With my training in Nutritional Therapy,  I can provide information on how inflammation, dehydration, and diet (among other things) can play a big part in chronic pain, tension and the healing/repair process.

I’m a believer in using the best information and resources, and empowering yourself to take care of your body the best way you can.

I look forward to working with you2
