LDR Massage is located at 6542 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie OR 97222. 1 mile off I-205 at the Hwy 224 exit, just north of Webster Road. Look for the 224 Medical sign, and my office is in the two story 6542 building, but AROUND THE BACK at the south entrance. Suite 106 is just upstairs from the PT office.
Nearby cities are: Portland, Sellwood, Happy Valley, Gladstone, Oak Grove, Oregon City and Clackamas; and it’s within reasonable driving distance from Lake Oswego, West Linn and Damascus.
I’ll go over instructions on how to position yourself on the table, where to put your things, etc, and I’ll step out of the room. You can undress to your comfort level, keeping in mind that you’ll be covered with a sheet and blanket, and only the area I’m working on will be undraped. I’ll wait until I hear that you’re ready before coming back in.
Typically, I start clients face down on the table, and we’ll be working on the scalp, neck, back, glutes/hips and back of the legs. After turning over, we’ll continue the massage on your neck, upper chest/pecs, hands/arms, front of the legs and feet. A warm steamy towel removes the lotion from your feet, some final compressions to integrate the session, and we are all done.
I’ll step out after your massage while you get dressed, and when you’re ready we’ll go over any self-care recommendations, a reminder to drink plenty of water, and get you checked out. You can reschedule your next appointment at this time, or book it online whenever you’re ready.
My #1 suggestion is to make sure you’re hydrated. Your massage will be more effective and easier on your body. to receive, especially with deep tissue work. When the body is properly hydrated, fascia (connective tissue) tends to be more pliable, muscles relax easier, and the lymphatic system can flow smoother. Hydration has many other benefits; for joint health, digestion, energy, metabolism and detoxification.
- A serious health condition
- A recent injury or surgery
- Fractures or open wounds
- Moderate to severe osteoporosis
- Deep vein thrombosis or other clotting condition
- Bleeding disorders or taking blood thinning medications
- Any condition that is contagious
- Other conditions where massage may be contraindicated
It’s definitely worth checking to see if you have benefits for massage therapy.
Although I do not bill health insurance, I can email you a receipt after each session that you can try to submit to your insurance carrier. I have had many clients successfully using their HSA/FSA cards when paying for their sessions, but it’s still a good idea to double check that massage is an allowed expense and if you can use it as needed, or if a massage prescription or referral is needed prior to receiving massage.
I no longer offer billing for MVA cases.
Since this is a common question, I want to clarify that tipping is never an expectation. Some people like to show their appreciation this way, and for others it adds a layer of stress to what should be a relaxing experience.
If you love what I do, referrals to family and friends are always appreciated, as is leaving a review for me on my Google business page. This helps potential clients learn more about my work. Here’s a link to my page where you can leave a review.
I truly appreciate your business!
